LUXURY FAMILY HOTELS
The scope of this project was a significant challenge, to film 8 hotels within a few months, and give each of them their own personal character and charm.
In actual fact we were blessed with the material we had to work with. Luxury Family Hotels had created such a strong sense of upmarket family vibes that each hotel already carried a constant from their branding and ethos, as soon as you walked through the door.
Remarkably this is already 10 years ago now, and to think how technology has changed. You could probably make the whole series of films on an iphone or a DJI Osmo these days…..which would be SO much easier!
For Fowey were shooting on Canon 5Ds and shooting aerial footage with the original DJI Phantom, a drone you could barely see what you were filming, let alone get good exposure with!
But these films have stood the test of time and thanks to the vision of Adrian Burley, one of the early adopters of video marketing, proved how this medium was going to become such a massive part of the internet.
Shooting date : 2014 - 2015
Fowey Hall, Cornwall
This is the first hotel we shot in the series for Luxury Family Hotels and probably our favourite. These were some of the very first marketing films seen on hotel websites and proved that you can say more in 2 minutes on a video than any amount of marketing blurb.
The Ickworth, Suffolk
Set within 1,800 acres of beautiful parkland in Suffolk, we’ve got fresh air in abundance (not to mention tree climbing, bike riding, getting messy and generally having lots of fun). Combine the traditions of a great country house with our relaxed and welcoming contemporary style, and what you get is one of the UK’s most remarkable luxury family hotels.
Thornbury Castle, Gloucestershire
Step back in time in this extraordinary Tudor castle on the edge of the Cotswolds. This hotel offers the perfect luxurious retreat – combining 500-year-old architecture with sumptuous facilities. Thornbury Castle is a place to de-stress – take a stroll around the manicured lawns and landscaped grounds, book a massage in your own bedchamber and relax over a delicious meal in our exclusive restaurant.
Polurrian bay, Cornwall
Delightfully light, bright and airy in feel, the hotel offers stunning views from inside and out – especially from our Vista lounge, where the glass-fronted panorama will take your breath away. The coast, the sea, the sky, the glorious sunsets… each one is more spectacular than the last..
The Elms, Worcestershire
Take a Queen Anne style manor house set in the rolling landscape of the Worcestershire countryside, add rolling lawns, landscaped grounds and a super-contemporary spa complex – and you get what can only be described as a perfect idyll. Throw in some energetic children, fresh produce from a kitchen garden and delectable dishes in the restaurant, and the idyll becomes a magical family retreat
Wooley grange, WILTSHIRE
Woolley Grange, a luxury family hotel nestled on the edge of the Cotswolds. Make yourself at home in a beautiful Jacobean manor house, where you can experience the seamless fusion of family life, relaxation and indulgence.
NEWPARK MANOR, HAMPSHIRE
Back in the late 1600s, King Charles II stayed at this grand country house, using it as his base for deer hunting in the giant royal playground of The New Forest. Today, there are three herds of fallow and roe deer in the grounds of New Park Manor – take your children hunting and see who can get the best shot (with your camera, of course) of the noble stags and gentle does.
MOONFLEET MANOR, DORSET
No matter what the weather does, fun is paramount at Moonfleet Manor. With indoor and outdoor play areas, a cinema, heated indoor pool, a fabulous crèche, great walks and nearby family attractions – the children will be entertained all day, every day. And for those in need of some grown-up time, parents can have a fabulous evening meal at our Mediterranean-style restaurant, or spend some soothing ‘me-time’ in the spa treatment rooms.
And finally
A short brand film that showed off all of the hotels in a 2 minute video.
